NEW SHIPS!

ROYAL PRINCESS  - inaugural June 10, 2013
She will be he first of two ships in a brand-new class, Royal Princess -- at 141,000 tons and 3,600 passengers -- is some 20 percent larger than the largest of the line's ships. Special feature: the SeaWalk, a cantilevered, glass-enclosed walkway that will extend 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship and 128 feet out over the water.

The ship will feature several new dining venues, including two buffet options (slight charge) -- a crab shack and fondue area. It also will have a free pastry shop near the main Horizon Court buffet, which at night will transform into Horizon Bistro, a fee-free themed-dining experience.
Princess' famous Piazza (pictured) will be increased to 50% larger than any other of the fleet. The area will also introduce new venues, including a for-fee seafood bar and gelateria. Located just aft of the Piazza, Princess Live! is a TV studio/intimate performance venue that seats 280 passengers. The daily morning broadcast will be filmed here -- with a studio audience -- and passengers can participate in cooking demos, game shows, murder mysteries and trivia at the venue.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN revealed the names of its next generation cruise ships and started construction on the first. The 158,000-ton, 4,100-passenger QUANTUM of the SEAS  is scheduled to debut in fall 2014, with sister ship, ANTHEM of the SEAS , launching the following spring.
While specific ship details remain scant, Quantum and Anthem represent a significant reduction in size compared to RCI's 225,282-ton Oasis-class pair, which are the world's largest cruise ships. The Quantum-class ships will each carry 4,100 passengers, while the Oasis-class ships carry 5,400 passengers (double occupancy).
